About Jaylynn

I started working with kids in 2018 when I got a position at Templeton Elementary school. I served as the advocate for community engagement and created mentorship/tutoring services for Templeton students. 2 years ago I began working at Banneker Community Center. There I have been a recreation leader at Fairview elementary, the teen after school specialists, and summer camp director. I have 4 years of experience not only taking care of children, but also engaging with them in activities, leading them on field trips, picking them up from school, helping with homework, making sure they were fed, and most importantly ensuring they feel safe, accepted, and free to be their true selves. In my spare time, I love to read novels, paint canvases, make music playlists, and watch documentaries. One thing you should know about me is I am very empathetic. My strategy when working with humans is to be very gentle and understanding of their feelings, especially when working with children.
