About Jayleen

I am currently studying Arabic (UMD in College Park) and am working as a Spanish teacher in a Montessori school. My remaining availability are Wednesday afternoons from 6:45-9:45 p.m. or Saturday/Sundays from 1PM-9 p.m. *Weekends are negotiable* A little bit of my history, I am from Massachusetts but recently moved down here for school. During my time back home, I held many different positions in youth and child-care specifically with after-school programs at the Boys and Girls Club, all-day theatre camps and tutoring at multiple locations. I also have much personal experience with home aide as I was responsible for taking care of my younger brothers, nieces, nephews and sick aunt all through middle and high school. I am a very loving, bubbly person who always tries to have a positive attitude every day. I have my own car and Mass driver's license. I speak English, Spanish and French fluently and can also assist in teaching and tutoring if needed.

Jayleen was nothing short of phenomenal. She facilitated online school for a nanny-share of 5 children who are all in a French immersion program. Not only did she ensure our children were fully engaged in virtual school, but she regularly stepped in to sort out issues with teachers since we, as parents, were not around, and then back-briefed us. She developed, of her own volition, fun enrichment activities that helped the children practice their skills outside of school work and burn off energy. Jayleen helped my sixth grader shore up her math skills and helped my youngest with his organizational, interpersonal and grammar skills. Her French and Spanish language skills were a God-send. Jayleen also had excellent communication skills and was incredibly reliable. I can't remember a time during the 1.5 years I used her where she missed a day of work. My children regularly say they miss her. She was an awesome tutor, nanny, and partner in my children's pandemic education.
