I was gifted nearly 15 years with my Welsh Terrier, Bryn. In her last years she developed canine cognitive dysfunction and kidney disease. I know what a 3 a.m. pacing episode looks like, and what to do when a dog gets stuck in a corner or doesn't quite recognize you. I'm comfortable with medication schedules, vet-directed routines, incontinence, and sundowning. If your dog is old, anxious, or medically complicated and you've been dreading leaving them, I'm here for that. I'm also good with puppies -- a steady hand early on matters, and I reinforce the routine you've already set rather than undo it -- and with dogs who are cautious or reactive. As Bryn aged she stopped being comfortable around other dogs, and I learned to read her signals and manage her space so she was never pushed past what she could handle. I work remotely, so weekday walks and drop-ins are very manageable. I live in North Center and travel farther for overnights and weekends.
