About Jasmine

Hello, I'm Jasmine! I'm a writer and culture journalist from Southern California with degrees from UCLA (History) and USC (MA in Specialized Journalism). I've been published by LA Taco, the LA Times and awarded by the LA Press Club. I have a 3-year-old daughter and love working with kids. Throughout undergrad I tutored for a living, but I've worked in Communications at a non-profit in an underserved area of LA for the past two years. In my time there expanding economic and educational opportunities for adults and children alike I became keenly aware of the obstacles they face in their schooling-- especially post-pandemic. My approach to teaching is collaborative and I hope that each of my students leaves me with a better understanding of both their own history and the world's around them. I truly believe that everyone's perspective is significant, and excitedly await hearing those of your student and family.
