About Jasmine

My name is Jasmine and I'm a junior at a University. My major is sociology, with a concentration in social services. I love children and have worked with many in the past. I was a tutor for a 12-year-old, who had learning disabilities. The child wasn't doing the best in school, and with time and patience his grades improved immensely. For the past two years, I was a summer camp counselor at an Elementary School in East Orange, NJ. I worked with children ages 4-10. I assisted the teacher as well, we prepped the students for their following grade. We taught writing skills, reading and comprehension, etc. I've also volunteered at my church, and was a teacher assistant at their Vacation Bible School. This is a a 2-week program to teach children ages 4-16 about the bible in a fun, but interesting way. We would play games, do arts & crafts, music, but also discuss the Lord to make the children understand. Children are our future, and I would love to be apart of a family in helping bettering their child/children in all areas whether educationally, socially, but of course have fun when the time is appropriate.

I am a third grade teacher. I am writing to you regarding a personal reference for Jasmine. I have known Jasmine both professionally and personally. Knowing Jasmine for over ten years, I have known her to be dependable, caring, honest, loyal and most important a team player. I believe that her skills and commitment to helping the youth will make her an ideal candidate for a child care position. I met Jasmine over ten years ago at our church. Over these past ten years I have watched Jasmine grow and develop into a beautiful young lady. Watching her graduate from high school and now continuing her education in college and receiving numerous honor and awards; I am definitely proud of who she is becoming. At our church Jasmine is involved in numerous ministries and activities. With regards to children Jasmine has volunteered with the Vacation Bible School Program at the church each summer. This program allows children from the community come to the church to learn Bible lessons, dances, complete art activities and sing songs. Jasmine has assisted in numerous ways with the program and is always an asset to have.
