Hi! My name is Jamie. I love working with children, especially babies and toddlers! Creating close, meaningful connections is very important to me, so working one-on-one with children and their families is a perfect fit. I have been caring for children for 20 years including 8 years teaching preschool. I'm very responsible, gentle, creative and extremely attentive to every child I care for. I have a BA in Creative Writing and certifications in Early Childhood Education and teaching yoga. I'm certified in CPR and first aid. I also have experience as a tutor and case manager. I love to nurture the incredible imaginations children have through play, art, reading, music, dance and spending time in nature. Five years ago, I had the unique opportunity to nanny for premature twin boys for the first nine months of their lives. I discovered that I truly love caring for newborns and have continued doing so! *Pictures with children posted with parental consent

For the past twenty-odd years Jamie has made caregiving her profession as well as her passion. My son and I have gotten to know her very well over the past decade. From the time that he was three until he was eight or so, Jamie cared for my son over 100 times. He is twelve now and still stays in touch with her. If I needed help tomorrow, she would be the first person to whom I would turn. I could write at length about her stellar qualifications - I first met her while she was an assistant teacher in my son’s preschool class, for instance - but anyone reading this review can find that info elsewhere and when they meet her - so I’d rather take this opportunity to mention some of those intangible qualities that I believe set her apart and above others with whom I’ve worked. Jamie’s philosophy toward caregiving, as I have come to understand it, is to meet each child where they are and offer each unconditional love and total, positive self-regard. Every child is different and every child has their own struggles and gifts. Jamie seems to know just how to get each child to use their gifts to best manage their struggles and emotions. She brings unwavering attention and a positive presence to each caregiving encounter, and the children she cares for seem to respond in kind. She loves to dance and sing with older children, and cuddles and soothes the littles. She is sincere, honest, and trustworthy. She seems to understand that children need love from many people and in a variety of ways - whether that means letting a parent take the lead, or offering a hug, or setting a boundary - and is able to make the right choice in any given situation. I recommend her enthusiastically and without reservation. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. Kevin
