The experience I have in animal care comes from volunteering at shelters & assisting neighbors in my neighborhood. There are a lot of duties and responsibilities that come with this job here are a few important ones: Daily Care: I would arrive at the shelter to feed the animals, clean their living spaces, and ensure they have fresh water. Socialization: I would spend time interacting with the animals to help them become more socialized and adoptable. This includes playing with dogs in the play area and gently handling cats to build trust. Grooming: Once a week, I would assist with grooming tasks, such as bathing and brushing the animals, especially those with longer fur, to prevent matting and promote cleanliness. Health Monitoring: I would learn to recognize signs of health issues by observing the animals' behaviors and reporting any concerns to shelter staff. This could include monitoring for changes in appetite, activity levels, or unusual symptoms.
