I hired Jaclyn to be a nanny for my infant son and she quit less than 48 hours before she was scheduled to start working. This is after we had a phone interview, followed by an in person interview in which she agreed to be our nanny with a start date of 10/17/22. On top of her interviews I checked her references which gave very positive feedback. I had her come to our house so that she could spend time with my son and get to know where everything was prior to her start date. She was compensated for this time. On 10/13/22 she let me know that she had forgotten about an appointment that was scheduled on her first day of work. When trying to talk about this with her she would not speak with me over the phone and subsequently did not respond to multiple text messages before ultimately quitting via text message. She quit knowing that I was returning to work after being out on maternity leave and knowing that we had no other care options lined up.
