Hi! I'm Izzy, a private educator and curriculum designer whose approach is inspired by the Montessori philosophy. I create child-centered experiences that build confidence, self trust & fierce independence. Families describe me as calm, creative, and deeply present. I believe kids are capable of far more than we sometimes give them credit for. I follow their curiosity, provide the support they need to succeed, and create meaningful opportunities to grow. (And yes, I firmly believe cardboard boxes are still one of the greatest toys ever invented.) With classroom experience, I love working in both 1:1 and group settings. I offer private camps, enrichment programs, and childcare for weddings and special events, creating engaging experiences that blend art, STEM, and hands-on learning My background includes infants through high school, neurodivergent learners, IEPs, tutoring, executive functioning coaching, and collaborating with families and therapists. I'd love to support your family!
To Whom It May Concern: I had the pleasure of working with Isabel (Izzy) in a science-based summer camp. As a retired educator who has supervised many teachers and as a small business owner now, I was very impressed with Izzy for a number of reasons and offered to write this letter of recommendation. Among Izzy's strengths are: Strong work ethic: Isabel arrived ready to work, and found tasks to fill any slow times. She was able to find ways to make subtle pain points work seamlessly and did it in the background on her own volition — which eased the flow of the weeks significantly. She went above and beyond in this way in multiple ways like this. Positive attitude: When working through challenging situations, she could often see a positive outcome and direct the situation toward that positive outcome. Excellent planning skills: Her thorough understanding of her job enabled her to think ahead to anticipate upcoming needs and to plan accordingly. Strong organizational skills: Balancing diverse needs of campers, staff directives, schedules, activities and materials of all sorts is not an easy task. Izzy succeeded at this beautifully. People skills: Izzy was well respected by and worked well with her peers, other supervisors and parents as well as the diverse children for whom she was responsible. Strong collaboration skills: Her ability to take lead on finding a different/better way to achieve a goal or complete an activity impacted the camp program in an incredibly positive way. Izzy would speak up to offer suggestions and communicate in a way that allowed for others to feel seen, heard and included. She encouraged suggestions from others and welcomed compromise as a way to reach a better outcome for all. In summary, it was a true pleasure to work with Izzy and to get to know her. She is a fine young woman with a bright future ahead of her who is making the most of her skills, talents and abilities. If I were in a position to hire her myself, I would do so without reservation. Respectfully, Toni
