About Iris

Hi my name is Iris. I have a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and have been a research biologist for over 10 years (at Johns Hopkins, the NIH and UCSF). I am currently applying for teaching K12 positions starting August 2019 so I am available for child care during my break. I have 6 nieces and nephews and grew up raising my baby sister who is 9 years younger. I love working with kids and have taught science to students ranging from 5 years old to college students. I am passionate about student learning and have experience teaching and tutoring in STEM as well as mentoring students. In college, I spent 2 years teaching English as a second language to 2 South Korean children (ages 7 and 9). My older sister has 3 children and I have really enjoyed babysitting her kids (ages 10, 8 and 1 yrs 10 months). I'm a literacy volunteer with the SF Education fund. Your child's safety and happiness are my priority. I can't wait to meet your children and see if it's a good match.
