About Inae

Ms. Inae provided care for two of my children - 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son. In the past ~2.5 years Inae has not only become part of the family but also a good friend.   In addition to my daughter’s immediate liking of Ms. Inae and the stellar recommendations; I, too, really liked her from the beginning. She has all the quality of a great caregiver: patience, compassion, experience, attentiveness, strong sense of responsibility and wit/humor. So I thought I’d share about me, my requirements and why/how it worked out so well with Ms. Inae along with a few anecdotes to share.   I didn’t need a nanny with my first child as I lived close to my mother. When we moved to DC and had our second child amid pandemic we had to resort to hiring a caregiver. The thought of having a stranger come to my house and look after my children was uneasy. The two-week nanny I had prior to Ms. Inae ended up in a disaster who had come with glowing recommendations. This experience left a bad taste which was quickly overturned by Ms. Inae.   I needed a caregiver who: 1) would treat my children with AFFECTION, 2) was able to entertain a demanding then 4-year-old, 3) while looking after a baby’s ever-changing needs and schedules, 4) is reliable and honest.   She excelled at every aspect and more. I didn’t care about tidiness but she left the house cleaner than how she entered it. Ms. Inae is also strong and healthy. Missing work due to illness is a rarity. My daughter would often prefer to stay at home with Ms. Inae instead of going to some of the coveted summer camps or activities she likes. For my daughter’s 5th birthday, she even came in on a Saturday to help me with food preparation. All the while she looked after my son, so the rest of the family could focus on hosting the guests. She is awesome with babies and managed our crew of two kids expertly; building relationships with each of them and navigating complicated school and summer schedules. She made everyday a fun and educational adventure for them even when remaining home due to weather or outdoors. She enjoys spending quality time outside, perfect for families who appreciate fresh air and nature. She’s expert at finding age appropriate activities like story time, music and museums. When our youngest was still eating baby food, she managed his feeding and nap schedule and made sure to communicate how he was doing each day often identifying potential challenges before we saw them coming. She was always reading and singing to him in both Korean and English and as he got older helped him to identify letters and numbers. She took every opportunity to learn something and made learning so much fun. She would’ve been an excellent early childhood educator if she chose it as her career.   While Ms. Inae would provide exceptional care to any family; I would especially recommend her to first time parent(s). She understands the physical and emotional rollercoaster ride of being a parent. She is genuinely happy for me when I’m able to take a quick nap and get rejuvenated. When I sought feeding therapy consultation for my son she wanted to be present for it because she wanted to share her observation and because she sincerely cared about my son and me. Ms. Inae observed the changes in my daughter when she started attending school in-person and picked up some languages and behavior that wasn’t nice. She would talk to my daughter and kindly explain why we shouldn’t say/do certain things; informed me of her observations and we discussed at length on our approach to deal with the situation as a team. The story goes on and on. We call her "auntie Inae”   I would love to share more about my journey with Ms Inae and her aptitude for caregiving. I really hope she meets a family who deserves her care, who would appreciate her work and the value she adds to the family and life.
