Hi, my name is Imani! I currently have a little over 5 years of experience caring for and working with the elderly. I received my CNA certification, and after that began working in a nursing home for a little over a year. The past 4 or so years I had been doing in home care, which I very much enjoyed. This has also given me a chance to gain experience with dementia and Alzheimer's. I am also able to assist with housekeeping, cooking, transportation, companionship, and anything else you may need! I currently work in a podiatry office as a medical assistant, but am looking to pick up some additional work. I understand allowing someone in your home, or trusting someone with your family is a huge deal, and also may be quite an adjustment. Imani was great with my dad, an early-stage Alzheimer's. She was kind, caring, and offered as much assistance as my (stubborn) dad would allow. My father was fairly independent, however, he needed someone to check on him often, provide conversation, oversee his medication, and maybe have a sandwich or burger cooked for him. Imani provided all of that and even created a binder with printed sheets to track her activities and my dad's health. I really appreciated her help. (My dad not as much since he was in that phase where the patient is still independent and reluctant to receive help). She did well with that hurdle too, finding ways to be patient with him and to engage with him. I would highly recommend Imani to anyone who needs assistance with their loved ones.
