Experience: 10 yrs
I have 15+ years of experience. I am highly dependable and love taking care of the elderly. I am also committed to helping patients maintain the highest level of independent living and I look for ways to enrich the lives of those I am caring for. I have worked with clients with Parkinson's, dementia, including Alzheimer's & Lewy body, and also hospice. I find hospice care very rewarding. Some of the detailed things I have done for my clients are: *Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress and problems in a log book and discuss concerns with family and supervisor. *Provide patients with help moving in and out of beds, showers, wheelchairs, cars, etc. Meal prep. Direct patient in exercises from the Physical Therapist. Accompany clients to Doctor's appointments. Administer prescribed medications. Shower and wash client's hair. Assist with personal hygiene. Assist client with getting dressed. Caring for a client who is confined to a bed. Worked with clients who were in hospice.

When Mom's husband passed away suddenly, we needed to take Mom into our home that same day. At 83 years old and with fairly progressed Alzheimer's, Mom needed constant supervision and care. After some initial communication we decided to meet with Heidi in-person. During that meeting, Heidi was quick to start a relationship with Mom and it became clear that we had found the right person to help with our care needs. Heidi jumped right in during a very difficult transition period for Mom. Mom had just lost her husband and was then whisked away from her own home. She was very confused and at times agitated, not understanding everything that happened. This manifested in several behaviors which were very difficult to deal with. Heidi did an excellent job of staying very engaged with Mom and helping to talk her through a lot of rough spots. We highly recommend Heidi. Her commitment to helping Mom was always obvious and we can't thank her enough for all that she did.
