About Heather

Thank you for reading my bio. My name is Heather, and I have been a private elderly caregiver for 10+ years. I have always been fascinated by the medical sciences, excelling in biology, anatomy &physiology and allied health sciences in my educational endeavors. I, proudly, joined the US Navy in 1992, and received extensive Hospital Corpsman training, to include basic field combat medicine. I spent my enlistment working at NMCSD, as a Leading Petty Officer, in both Gastroenterology and Pulmonary Medicine, while training to become a state certified bronchoscopy technician. Towards the end of my enlistment, I volunteered to work in the Navy's only west coast HIV/AIDS clinic, caring for active duty servicemen, veterans and their respective dependants. In the civilian sector, I have worked in urology, rheumatology, primary care, infectious disease and specialized gynecology spanning 15+years. I have been a caregiver for 8 families, caring for clients with dementia to bedridden clients.
