About Heather

To start, I hold my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education which I received in May of 2019. I started working in the classroom in 2014 as a teacher associate in the classroom. During these 5. 5 years, I assisted students in the classroom with their work. This was done on a one-on-one basis and with small groups. Additionally, I have nearly a year experience as a substitute teacher for two districts. As a substitute, it was my responsibility to create reading plans for students identified with reading deficiencies as well as assess student understanding. Not only did I provide instruction, I practiced proactive classroom management strategies by recognizing positive and expected behavior by combining assertiveness with flexibility. Not only do I have classroom experience, I have held several nanny positions. Last summer, while working with a family, I provided instruction for the school-aged child. A focus was placed on math, reading and writing.
