About Hana

I'd describe my personality as Energetic, compassionate and creative. I like tutoring because I believe each student has a specific learning style and can benefit greatly from one-on-one instruction. I'm looking for a job that allows time for ongoing work to achieve students' goals and to gain confidence and enjoyment in learning. I started tutoring when I was in college. I was a literature and education major, and was asked by one of my professors to tutor master's degree students on their essays. This sparked a love for teaching writing. One thing you should know about me is I have extensive experience with tutoring in multiple environments. I have tutored one on one for writing, college prep, testing, study skills, reading skills, creative writing and improv. I also have tutored ESL refugee students. My hope is to teach practical skills to take away the fear of the blank page for writing. For reading, my goal is for students to not fear more challenging reading texts.
