About Gwen

I like working with kids because they remind me of the importance of joy. I am inspired by the way they view the world with curiosity and wonder, and I love watching them grow and expand their minds. I am great at connecting with children, and I value taking the time to build trust with them. I am currently a third year second grade teacher, and am experienced in planning and implementing fun, engaging, hands-on activities. I love play based and child led learning! I started working with kids when I was in high school, volunteering at an after school youth center and babysitting for neighborhood families. In college I continued to work at after school programs, provided private babysitting services, and led an education program at a summer camp for 4 years. I always prioritize children's physical and emotional safety. I am skilled at helping children self-regulate, address conflict, and work through any negative emotions. I strive to be open, caring, and make children feel comfortable.
