About Grace

Hi, my name is Grace and I am 22 years old. I have just graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences as a Child Studies major. I have worked with children for 10 years as a babysitter, nanny and daycare teacher. During my schooling I did placements in a Reggio-Emilia inspired preschool, a Montessori toddler classroom and a public school kindergarten class. I have a passion for working with young children and strive to make a loving and caring environment for them to grow in. My personal philosophy aligns with the Reggio-Emilia approach. I believe children learn best through play as they develop language and problem solving skills, emotional regulation, and more. I focus on child-led art that can be extended over multiple days to allow children to immerse themselves in the experience. Finally I prioritize an environment where children can be themselves and mistakes are celebrated as a way to learn. I am so excited to get to know you and your families!
