My previous housekeeping experience has primarily been a in upstate NY during the summer season of 2020, as well as private housekeeping in residential homes in Queens, NY during the summer season of 2021. Tasks for both occupations included changing linens for beds, washing loads of laundry, folding laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing showers and bath tubs, stocking toiletries, folding sheets, doing dishes. Tasks at the inn included harvesting from garden on grounds, polishing silverware, disinfecting surfaces, baking, cleaning bathrooms, washing fresh eggs, and a few odd jobs in between. Tasks at residential home in Queens included nannying for the 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons every afternoon, helping cook dinner, deep cleaning, and anything else the family may need help with such as errands. A little of everything! I enjoy housekeeping because I find it to be a very zen and calming practice. Cleaning is one of the many ways we can care for ourselves and others.
