I have great empathy for elder care, providing companionship, respite, light housekeeping, cooking, administering medication and transportation to medical appointments or special events. I cared for an Alzheimer's client, Ann for 16 months, planning activities to keep her engaged as well as walking with her for exercise. Also, I have filled in for S as a caregiver while she goes on vacations. D is the client, she is a very delightful 94 yr old who still lives in her own home and is in remarkable health. This past 1 1/2 years, I took care of my son for 15 months while he went through chemo and radiation for stage 4 colon cancer and his two Great Danes. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with cancer in January of this year. I am retired and can be flexible with my schedule and have a heart for elder care.
