About Genii

Former owner and lead teacher of private preschool. My teaching style is project based, inquiry driven, and nature centric. I believe all children are capable and thrive when given a safe environment, the right support, and when adults around them empower them to be the driving force behind their own learning. Play provides the perfect environment for children to employ intrinsic motivation to develop a love for learning and exploring. I traveled to Italy a few years ago to study the Reggio Emilia Approach which has informed many of my teaching practices. I'm looking for a position that provides consistency, mutual respect, and partnership with a family. One thing you should know about me is I value the impact the family dynamic has on child development and love supporting families. My formal education consists of a bachelor's degree from BSU with a certificate in inquiry based early childhood curriculum. I have begun coursework for my master's in early and special education.
