About Gavin

Hi! I'm Gavin, a 19-year-old nursing student at BMCC. I'm dependable, patient, and responsible, and I enjoy working with children. As an older brother, I've helped care for my younger siblings from an early age. My mom was a nanny, and watching her care for children taught me the importance of patience, kindness, and creating a safe, loving environment. I also babysit my younger cousins when needed, volunteer as a basketball assistant for children with special needs, and help coach younger players through my Filipino travel basketball team. Over the past year, my dad battled stage 4 NSCLC and I've taken on more responsibilities at home while supporting my family, which has strengthened my maturity and compassion. I enjoy helping with homework, playing sports, preparing simple meals, and creating a fun, positive, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and feel safe.
