Gabriela (Gaby) was our full-time nanny caring for our daughter from age 4 months to 24 months. Gaby was the most thoughtful, gentle, reliable and all-around best caretaker we could've asked for. Throughout that time, Gaby truly became a part of our family and always will be. Gaby taught our daughter ASL and Spanish from Day 1 and both are skills she still knows and uses today (age 3). Gaby ensured each day/week had structure and a plan and introduced age-appropriate activities each week to work on milestones and create a fun and educational environment. Often times Gaby would introduce a theme for a period of time, planning activities around the theme and bringing materials and things from home to incorporate. Gaby made sure she was getting out of the house to experience time outdoors on walks or in the yard multiple times a day and as our daughter got older, would take her to the library and parks. Gaby incorporated age-appropriate independence and schedules that prepared our daughter for a seamless transition into a preschool environment. Whenever Gaby would have concerns or feedback to share, she would do so in a clear and professional manner. Gaby was not only the best caretaker for our daughter, but for us as well - helping us foray into [working] parenthood for the first time. The bond Gaby built with our daughter remains evident today in the way she remembers and talks about Gaby and in their interactions when they reunite periodically. Any family would be lucky to have Gaby as a part or full-time caregiver to their child or children.
