About Francis

We were incredibly fortunate to have Francis care for our daughter for a year, from when she was 5 months old until she was 17 months old. She worked 35 hours a week, four days a week, and was exceptionally reliable and accommodating to our family's schedule. We ultimately ended Francis's employment because we felt our daughter was ready to transition into a daycare setting. This was entirely a decision about what we felt was the right next step for our daughter and had nothing to do with Francis or her performance. We recommend her 10/10 and would absolutely hire her again, without hesitation. Francis is patient, loving, genuine, and it is very clear that she truly loves caring for children. Our daughter responded so well to her warm and nurturing presence. Francis was also wonderful at setting firm and consistent boundaries in a loving way—our daughter honestly seemed to listen to her better than she listens to us! She never seemed frazzled by difficult behavior. She was consistently calm, responsive, and reassuring, and she had excellent instincts about when to redirect, change activities, or simply give our daughter some extra cuddles and comfort. She was also very attentive when our daughter was hurt or upset and always made sure she felt safe and cared for. She kept our daughter busy and engaged with a great variety of activities, including stroller walks, music and instruments, singing, crafts and painting, books, and plenty of imaginative play. She handled naps, meals, and bottles reliably and was excellent at following our family's routines and preferences. She also helped with light household tasks related to the kids, including dishes, laundry, and tidying up. One of the things we valued most was how experienced and confident Francis was. I always felt comfortable leaving our daughter with her because I trusted that she could handle whatever situation came up and would know when something warranted reaching out to us. I genuinely valued her advice and input, and it felt like we were a team rather than simply an employer and nanny. She communicated well over text, kept us updated when something was important, and would often share a funny or sweet anecdote about their day at the end of the afternoon. Francis was also wonderful with our 3-year-old son. He became very attached to her because she was usually home when he returned from preschool, and she was always happy to give him her time and attention. She would sometimes offer to watch both children for a little while so I could get dinner started or get something else done, which was incredibly helpful. She was generous with her time and attention toward both children and never made us feel that caring for both was an inconvenience. Most importantly, Francis genuinely became an important part of our family. She is loving, attentive, confident, experienced, trustworthy, and exceptionally dependable. We always knew our children were in good hands with her, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her caring for their children.
