My current employer is an elderly woman with late-stage Alzheimer's disease, chronic venous stasis ulcers and other ailments. The skills I have gained over the years are demonstrated through gentle feeding routines, daily dressing and grooming of the client as well as keeping surroundings hygienic and maintaining a pleasant atmosphere. My personal attributes are honesty, dedication, reliability, punctuality, friendliness, patience, politeness and willingness to learn. I communicate well with my clients as well as with their families. In addition to maintaining full caregiving responsibilities (including medication management), I manage a large household and care for the family's two large dogs. If you are looking for a person to care for your loved one with grace, dignity, thoughtfulness, common sense, and love, a person who is honest and trustworthy beyond reproach, a person who is gentle, attentive, and infinitely patient, you will find her in Ethel (Latoya) T. Latoya took care of both our mother, who was in an advanced stage of Alzheimer's, and our Aunt Nancy, who lived with Mom, and who had mild dementia in addition to being extremely frail. As you can imagine this was an incredibly difficult situation, caring for two people at one time with such demanding needs but Latoya handled it with great skill and professionalism. We feel she treated our mother and aunt as if they were her own family. While under Latoya's care they were clean, well fed, and were carefully watched which allayed any fears we may have had for their well being. We cannot overstate how much we came to love and trust Latoya. We were truly fortunate and very blessed to have this wonderful person in our lives to take such excellent care of our beloved mother and aunt. We would rehire her in an instant if we were to need a home health aide in the future.
