5/19/14 To whom it may concern, I want to take a moment to vigorously recommend Miss Erin for consideration in the upcoming employment. This past 2012-13 school year, Miss Erin has interned in my kindergarten classroom. She has embraced the teaching experience and during our time together, she has proven herself to be an exemplary candidate for a career in the teaching field. During Miss Erin's intern experience, she has lead small group instruction, remediation and tutoring lessons, as well as whole group activities. Working together, we have planned lessons that are tailored to students' learning needs and allow for many opportunities to differentiate instruction. Not only has she facilitated in meeting the academic needs of students, but her nurturing and caring manner helps to meet the needs of the whole child. Miss Erin has often given of herself personally above and beyond what is required for her field experience. For example, at Christmas and Valentine's Day, she wrote personalized notes for each and every student along with treat bags. She has also given hours and hours above the time required to our classroom. She cares for the boys and girls here and it shows daily in all she does for our students. Miss Erin has increased her knowledge of research-based best teaching practices through her course work and is developing a skill set that will lay the foundation for a career in education. During her time in my classroom, I have had the pleasure of watching her grow and learn professionally. She is dependable, competent and has a love for children. She eagerly takes suggestions and adjust her teaching accordingly as she begins her journey to a classroom of her own. This work ethic extends far past the walls of the school, Erin volunteers and leads many community and high school activities. She gives countless hours to her church, school and community to benefit others directly and indirectly through her gifts and talents. It is this dedication and passion that will serve her well as a classroom teacher. In closing, once again I would ask that you consider Miss Erin as a candidate for position. Knowing with great certainty, that she will make a difference in the lives of many as she embarks on a career in education, it is indeed our job to foster, encourage and support her along the way.
