About Erin

I have a certificate in Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health from UW-Madison. I currently work part-time as a Child Care Specialist at a crisis childcare center for families experiencing high levels of stress. The children I work with there are between the ages of 0 to 14. Through this role I have developed extensive training and experience in understanding and supporting kids who've experienced trauma, and children who have neurological, cognitive, emotional, and/ significant behavioral challenges. I have also been a Family Support Specialist for home-visiting programs that support caregivers with young children around understanding child development, promoting early literacy skills through play, developing positive parenting strategies, and supporting over-all family well-being. Before beginning my career in 2011, I held several different jobs that included working in a daycare center, nannying, and working for organizations connecting with kids through the arts.

Erin provides childcare for me regularly (age 2, 11, 12). She has a true and evident love for children of all ages. She sees what they need and is always seeking understanding and deeper knowledge of how their brains work. Erin has extensive training in child development and years of experience with children of trauma and children of varied backgrounds, including newborn babies.
