About Eric

Hi! I'm Eliza. (I'm trans, and "Eric" is still my name legally.) I'm a native French speaker, having had a fully bilingual (French & English) upbringing. As a child, I lived in Canada and Tahiti, aside from the US. For years, I have loved languages and the teaching of others, including of children. I believe strongly in the blending of theory and practice, as well as finding the appropriate way for students to understand not only what to do and how to do it, but why - no matter their age. I also firmly believe that learning French can be more effective when the subject matter is made to connect, or feel important, to the student, something that I endeavor to make possible.
