My name is Emma and I'm a teacher. I have 8 years (and counting) of classroom experience in upper elementary. I studied English and Theater at College of the Holy Cross, and have a master's degree in both general and special education from Fordham University. I taught 4th and 5th grade in New York City before moving back home to Connecticut, where I currently teach 4th and 5th grade. I love working with kids on writing -- creative, literary, informational, whatever it be! I also enjoy exploring math with students, using manipulatives and problem solving strategies to build number sense and mathematical confidence. Everyone can be a math person! And finally, reading is so important for all subject areas, and I work hard to foster a love for reading in every student.
