Hi there! Looking forward to connecting with you! A little about me, I recently finished my first school year as a Special Education Paraeducator at Surprise Lake Middle School, where I supported students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs. Before that, I spent five summers at YMCA Camp Colman as a Camp Counselor, Teen Program Director, Inclusion Director, and Outdoor Environmental Educator. I'm a big believer that kids should spend more time outside than in front of a screen. I love coming up with fun games, crafts, adventures, and yes... I'll absolutely sing and dance with them (even if I'm not very good at it!). I'm patient, dependable, and happy to help with homework, transportation, meals, housekeeping, or whatever your family needs. My goal is always to create a safe, positive environment where kids feel supported, have fun, and can just be kids! Happy to provide references as needed!
Emma was a student in High School where I work. I was her class adviser and had the privilege of working with her on Senior Class activities and events. Emma was a very involved student She participated in Leadership, Cheer-leading, yearbook and was a TA for the special needs program. She developed strong connections with the students she worked for and became a very trusting person to them. She has continued to stay in touch and visit, volunteering her time to help in the classroom. Emma is known for putting others first - she forms caring friendships and is a natural problem solver. Emma has always held a job and maintained high grades while she attended high school; all while performing the extra curricular activities she was involved in. She is currently taking college classes to become a special education teacher. This is an excellent career choice for her. Several staff in the High School have observed her skills and patience with the students she works with. It is my honor to recommend Emma for any position. She is hard working, honest, and committed. Kathy
