About Emily

Hello! I am currently in graduate school working toward becoming a health professional, but in the past I have worked as a Special Education paraprofessional and ESL instructor for children ages 6-17, preschool assistant teacher for ages 3-5, and in various other privately employed childcare roles. I primarily have experience working with special needs children, and am open to (and enjoy) caring for children of all abilities! When I am spending time with children I care for I strive to encourage curiosity and incorporate child-led play (I have worked in Montessori and Reggio-inspired classrooms), while providing structured boundaries and an empathetic listening ear. Activities I like to encourage during childcare include arts and crafts, going to the park/ spending time in the back yard, and reading together (my academic background is in language, speech, and literacy) .
