About Emily

I have experience assisting older individuals with intellectual disabilities. I worked for Mosaic for 11 months at a group home with four individuals. I prepared and cooked meals, cleaned the house, assisted with laundry, and facilitated showers and dressing for one of the clients. I always enjoyed visiting my grandparents and their friends when they were alive and hearing their stories and thoughts about the world. Growing up, I would go to nursing homes with a few other families and we would sing songs for the people that lived there. It was so nice to see them smile and enjoy the music and companionship of all these kids singing to them. I would love to offer that same companionship and care to someone in need of a little extra help. I know it can't be easy to lose some of your independence as you get older, so my goal is to be a friend to whomever I am lucky enough to assist and make them feel as in control as possible and help however I can.
