About Emily

Hello! I am a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Latin and a minor in history. I have several years of experience in childcare and tutoring. For childcare: I engage the children with fun, stimulating activities in order to encourage rewarding growth physically and mentally. I love educational play as well as fun outside to help channel children's energy into positive outlets. I follow gentle-parenting guidelines, and I have experience with dietary restrictions and special needs! For Latin tutoring: I have a very rigorous tutoring style: I prefer the reading method of learning Latin. With that comes intensive grammar and vocabulary practice. For beginners, reading small snippets of unaltered Latin provides the true experience of the language and a strong basis for vocabulary. My preferred textbook is Wheelock's Latin along with its accompanying short stories handbook. However, I am able to follow along with any textbook/reading a student may have.
