About Emily

Emily has been our dream nanny. She started caring for our 15 month old after grandma had watched her full time for her first year of life and following a brief time with a nanny who frequently didn’t show up. Our toddler was really struggling with change and mom and dad leaving, worsened by the previous nanny, and Emily came to the rescue. I never imagined I could be so comfortable with someone else caring for my child. From day 1, Emily’s love for our daughter shined. I can tell she enjoys her days with my daughter and is equally as excited as Mom and Dad when our daughter meets new milestones or does new things. Emily’s communication is amazing; she keeps us updated daily with texts and updates. When our daughter was struggling with mom and dad leaving at first, Emily was prepared with new activities and toys daily, which was such a great distraction/redirection for mom and dad to sneak away. Emily is extremely reliable and dependent. She is always on-time (actually, early!). I never have to worry about Emily showing up or calling out. Emily has extensive experience and is extremely knowledgeable about child development and milestones and happy to give input and expertise (which we are extremely grateful for). Where Emily has totally wow-ed me 1) She always is looking up new activities and ideas and coming prepared with activities. Painting, sidewalk chalk, coloring; holiday/seasonal activities; activities tailored towards my daughter’s interests. She has also laminated my daughter’s artwork (which my toddler adores seeing on the refrigerator). 2) Emily takes pictures of my toddler doing activities and prints and laminates them for my daughter to look through. My toddler loves looking at these photos and pointing out places around the house she took these photos. (Emily asked before taking any photos) 3) My husband and I work from home but our toddler doesn’t love saying goodbye so we stay in our office all day. When I leave for a bathroom break, I can often overhear Emily and my daughter and I can always tell Emily is having as much fun as my daughter.. She is so genuine and caring in her interactions and seems like she is enjoying her time with my daughter, which brings me more joy than I could have possibly imagined. 4) Emily always leaves our home in better shape than when she arrives. I tell my husband daily what amazes me is that (in the best way possible) I cannot tell when Emily has been here. With minimal instruction, Emily does everything exactly as I would do it, and everything is always exactly where I would expect it to be. This may seem insignificant, but after a busy day at work, it’s really nice to come into your kitchen and not find things needing attention or feeling like someone rearranged everything. We love Emily and are so grateful we had the opportunity for her to be in our lives!
