Hello, I currently work at the YMCA, I have 10 years of Childcare experience. I started babysitting at age 12 for people besides my siblings. I started working at a YMCA Gym child watch when I was 17 and was promoted to a Daycare Floater in June 2020. From there I moved up to assistant preschool teacher and then a lead preschool teacher for 6 months. After that I moved to VA and did a combination of BabysittIng and nannying positions. Including a 8-10yr old with Cerebral Palsy & 13yr old for 18months. I have babysat for all ages and as a daycare teacher I worked with ages 18months to 11yr olds. I love helping kids to explore their interests and the world around them. I can prepare crafts, activities and games as well as following their lead in play. I've studied Child Development and best ways children learn. I use Authoritarian/Gentle & RIE parenting techniques, to help children understand their emotions & logical/natural consequences.

Emelynn is our absolute favorite caretaker!! She has watched our daughter for the last 5 years and is hands down the best! She is always on time, extremely dependable, and keeps communication very open. We never worry about our daughter when she is with Emelynn! She comes with activities for them to do together, she is always willing to make dinner, she cleans up without being asked, and has our daughter in bed on time. Our daughter had a very hard time being left with anyone that wasn't Mommy, but when Emelynn came, Mommy was told to leave, which helped us know she was loved, taken care of and was in the best capable hands. We highly recommend Emelynn!!!
