About Ellen

After 22 years of teaching elementary gifted students, I decided to leave the field. While teaching, I was a caregiver for my mother-in-law for five years. I managed a team of aides for her 24/7 care, coordinated grocery shopping, completed errands, did all clothing shopping/returning, managed medicine, food preparation, and paid bills. My experience includes caring for a gentleman who needed encouragement to get out of the house. For three years, we participated in weekly exercises at a local senior center, joined a bookclub, went to the movies, doctor appointments, and out to lunch. Another client needs help with errands and managing her paperwork. I especially help her organize her files and get everything ready for the accountant. In the past, I have also done vegan and vegetarian food preparation, decluttering, and personal shopping. After a session, I typically contact the family with an update. I am CPR and first-aid certified, fully vaccinated (COVID/Flu) and a nonsmoker.
