About Ella

Hi! My name is Ella, I am a high school ELA teacher at Schaumburg Christian School. I graduated Wheaton College with a degree in Spanish, Secondary Education, and English. I worked for the YMCA in my hometown for 4+ years as a child watch attendant, lifeguard, swim instructor (usually kids ages 3-14), and camp counselor. I have lots of experience tutoring school-aged children (I have tutored at Outreach Community Center and CREO in the area) as well as being a teacher's assistant in a first grade classroom. Working with kids is my passion, especially helping them learn and grow in all areas of life. I am certified in CPR and Basic First Aid as well as have undergone many childcare trainings through the YMCA. I have provided childcare for nearly 10 different families on Care. com, and still regularly babysit for a couple families after nearly two years. During the school year I only do occasional evening or weekend shifts, but my summer availability is much more open.
