About Ella

My name is Ella, and I'm an NYU Gallatin Dean's Scholar pursuing my M. A. at the intersection of coastal ecology and narrative nonfiction-which means I bring genuine intellectual curiosity and a love of teaching to everything I do with kids. I'm a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and BLS certified (First Aid + CPR), holding a Level 1 Open Water Rescue certification. My experience spans babies through teenagers. I tutored The Green Tomato's "Art x Science Pod" for three seasons, and spent countless hours babysitting. Before grad school, I co-directed Riverdale Neighborhood House's Food and Farm Hub, overseeing sustainability and urban farming programs for PreK-12, then moved into coastal habitat restoration and education with Cornell Marine Program on the East End. I'm just as happy brainstorming a nature scavenger hunt or a rainy-day art/writing project as I am winding kids down for a movie night. I look forward to bringing my background and love for kids to your family!
