About Elizabeth

I began my career working as a professional nanny during my husband's education (culminating in his earning a Ph. D. from Princeton). I stepped back from nannying for several years to homeschool my own 5 children. Now that they are older, I am pleased to be able to offer services to other families. I became interested in senior care during my mother's cancer recovery. Her condition required radical surgery with intense home care needs upon leaving the hospital. Despite our willingness to hire help, we faced a shocking shortage of care. I learned on the spot how to administer an IV, change catheter bags, give wound care, help with bathing, manage medications, and make decisions about when to transfer to the hospital. During that time I also cared for my father who has dementia. Beyond basic concerns such as preventing fires and wandering, I needed to find ways that he could safely contribute to my mother's care and maintain his self worth despite limitations.
