About Elizabeth

I am 43years old with middle-school aged kids. I used to work as a non-nursing in-home caregiver through Comfort Keepers, and have cared for my 100year old (still living!) grandmother part-time for a number of years before she went into a nursing home for more intense care. Both experiences included bathing, diapering/wiping, cleaning, light cooking & laundering, mobility techniques, running through PT/OT exercises, and being a general encouraging presence. In the case of my grandmother, Alzheimer's care also. I am well-aware of the agitation & aggression that can come with the fear stemming from confusion and disorientation in seniors, as well as the toll on round-the-clock caregivers. I want to bring compassion & empathy to caregiving. I am also currently in grad school for counseling psychology.
