I'm experienced working with kids that benefit from a calming presence, working with children whom might be resistant to tutoring, feel overwhelmed, or have some behavior difficulties. I believe that in order to be a good tutor you need to build rapport in order to develop trust, which will give them a more positive experience which could include them feeling safe with talking about other school issues they might be facing that's impacting their school performance (peer pressure, bullying, low self confidence, etc.) I tend to focus on children from Kindergarten through 5th grade for the school subjects. I'm open to any age with teaching study skills, reducing test anxiety, note taking, time management and assisting them to become more engaged with other students, activities, and teachers. I'm also very experienced with IEP's, behavior plan's, and can attend those meetings with you or give you information on what to expect or ask for. I'm an experienced educational advocate.
