About Elena

Hi! I'm Elena and I'm a junior at Vanderbilt University. I have several years of experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high schoolers--most frequently in math--but I have also worked with students on refining their reading skills, studying history, and preparing for the SAT. I'm planning on getting my licensure to teach high school history when I graduate from college because of the love of learning and mentorship I have fostered throughout my life. I'm dedicated to helping all the students that I work with discover the learning techniques and strategies that they find most useful rather than imposing a singular method upon them, even if doing so pushes me out of my own comfort zone! When working with students, I also place great emphasis on perseverance and resilience. Being able to work through a difficult concept while maintaining a positive attitude will not only boost their self-efficacy in that subject area, but it will equip them for struggles they may face later in life.
