About Elayna

I am a third year Biomedical Engineering student at UVA. I have always loved working with kids. In addition to babysitting in high school, I assisted in toddler ballet classes at my dance studio and taught beginner swim lessons as a lifeguard. At UVA, I volunteered in the YMCA preschool center in the toddler rooms. I currently am a "big sister" through Big Brothers, Big Sisters. This has allowed me to come up with creative activities for my elementary-aged little weekly, so I have a ton of fun arts and crafts, board games, and science experiments to do with your kids. Additionally, I tutor through both Madison House and UVA Engineering School, so I am able to help older students with their homework. I hope to only work with one family this summer to minimize risk of COVID-19, and I hope that I can help provide a safe and comfortable environment during these challenging times.
