About Elana

I have worked mostly with large groups of children, starting with themed birthday parties for kids 3 years to 12 years in the Bay area of California. After I graduated though I flew straight to Kenya for a three month internship working as the art therapy director. I worked for a nonprofit, which focuses on the psychosocial needs of children and adolescents living with HIV. This past month of August 2014 I was called back and hired to manage more tasks such as overseeing the art program and activities at camp, developing the activities and working with the children of course. The age range at camp is 9-18, but I have also worked with 4 years and up, and on occasion watched my coworkers adorable babies. When I was younger, I also worked at my local gymnastics center, watching and making sure the kids didn't hurt themselves on the equipment and leading the art sessions for camp. So as you can see, I love working with children, but most of all, I love creating art with them and seeing how happy, proud and creative they can be!
