About Elaina

We hired Elaina through Care.com to provide supplemental childcare during a family event. Prior to the event, we had two interviews and clearly outlined the role: supporting five children (all under age 3) alongside another experienced caregiver, including helping with bedtime routines after putting the youngest baby down first. During the event, she helped with the children from 4pm until approximately 7:00 p.m., when she took the youngest (3mo) for bedtime. However, after the baby fell asleep, she never returned to help with the remaining four children's bedtime routines as planned. Instead, the other caregiver was left to manage four children under three by herself for the rest of the evening. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication. She never let us know that she wasn't returning or that there was any issue with the plan. We only learned afterward what had happened. Reliability, communication, and following through on agreed responsibilities are extremely important to us, especially when caring for young children. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not hire her again.
