About Eileen

Caring for my husband in his final illness gave me an appreciation not only for older folks facing health challenges, but also those who care for them. Over the past year I was honored to provide companionship to a gentleman who was battling a cancer that ultimately took his life too early. I took him to/from his medical and other appointments, and frequently on shopping errands, often just for the purpose of getting out and about. I helped assure he took his meds, ate regularly, and got some exercise. Most important, I listened to his concerns or let him enjoy peace and quiet. I also have given assistance to an elderly neighbor at night, being a companion and assuring her safety, pill-taking, and peaceful close to her day. I would hope to offer similar assistance through care. com to seniors needing those services to supplement the care of medical providers and therapists.
