This rating is probably part for the care.com app and part for the sitter. I had to reach out to her to ask where she was and she responded letting me know she hadn’t used the app for a while and didn’t realize she had confirmed our appointment, and btw she had a medical emergency. I can’t be mad at someone for having a medical emergency, but I was really, really really frustrated and disappointed. I have had sitters who confirm through the app only and show up and others who confirm through the app and then call or text, so I didn't think anything of it. We made a great connection through the app, she asked to learn more about my job and I explained why I needed a sitter she said everything was great, I gave her my cell was looking forward to seeing her. Then she didn't show. To her credit she apologized for the poor commnication and said she felt terribly. I was planning to give her some grace until care.com charged me this morning. So that means she did not even have the decency to reach out to Care.com to let them know that she was unable to go to the job and that there was an issue. No bueno. Care.com please refund my money, I did not have a sitter yesterday. Thanks. And lesson learned for me, if a sitter does not call or text me, I don't care if they confirmed in the app, I don't care how good the conversation is via the app, I am going to cancel unless I have spoken to you directly.
