. Hi My name is Dashavia and I am a student at Broward college south campus pursuing a major in occupation therapist and a minor in entrepreneur while living in Miami garden. I currently volunteer for the children's program at Safe House Center, which is a non-profit organization . My responsibilities as a Children & Youth (C&Y;) include opening playroom and playing with kids while enforcing rules in a diplomatic, patient, and consistent manner. Playroom is best compared to daycare center as there is wide variety of toys/activities for children of all ages. The only differences are 1) Playroom is staffed by unpaid volunteers that must undergo 40 hours training held semi-annually and 2) Playroom is only open 6pm-8 p.m. Sunday-Friday. I have been a volunteer since March.
