About Dougal

I'm from Austin originally, but only recently moved back after several years in New York and Los Angeles, where I worked as a nanny with several wonderful families. I'm nearing a decade of care experience, formally and informally, and am in my fourth year of being a full-time professional caregiver. The majority of my work has been with children, but I also have experience as an elder care companion. I greatly my work, as it lets me continue to share the curiosity, imagination, and adventure that made my childhood so wonderful. I love learning about the interests of the children I work with, and engaging them in the meaningful ways that they need. I also understand the balance between responsibility and play, and have spent years assisting with daily routines of homework, sports, after-school activities, and appointments. On a personal note, I am an avid reader and tabletop game player, as well as a lover of film, photography, and the arts in general.
