Dory's was our first time ever nanny, her job consisted on arrive to our home at 6:00AM wake my kid up, change her, give her milk and toast, maybe play a little with her, take the food from the fridge (that I already prepared and drive my kid to day care at 6:45 AM on a daily basis (Mon to Fri). She took care of our daughter when I first went back to work and my little one was a baby, I noticed that she wasn't very organized and sometimes she even forgot my kid's food and/or the sheets at my home, not bringing them to daycare (she always came back for the food, but she never did it for the sheets, meaning that the kid slept that day,at the daycare, on the bare mattress)... but my kid seemed to liked her, so we continued with her and I tried to remember her to bring the sheets every Monday morning before I left. Besides morning times, she babysat my baby two times (for about 2 hours each time) and she even took care of our dogs while we were on vacation!. During this time, also I know that Dory was driving older kids (very successfully), around 7 years old to and from soccer practice, also I know she took care of her grandchildren during summer vacation and it seemed that the kids had great time (swimming pool days .....etc). About three months ago, my daughter became a rowdy toddler, I can understand that this could be very stressing, so, I understand that also it can be very overwhelming. Therefore, when I started to realize that in order to pay attention to my "full-time awake" and newly "independent toddler", Dory stop paying attention to small details (like put back the milk in the fridge, turn off the lights, and she even reach the point that one week she remembered to bring the sheets to daycare and the other she forgot....), I understood that I needed to get help with extra toddler skills. She is a nice person that gets distracted very easily and unfortunately, this is not a good combination to have with an extra curious and prone to meltdowns toddler. Nevertheless, I will recommend Dory for taking care of little bit older kids ( 7? 8? And older) that do not require such level of attention as a toddler does, and most definitively I would recommend her to drive kids around. I would like to emphasize that in all the time she worked for us, Dory was very punctual, flexible and never arrived late.
